Great restaurants to warm you up ! |
||||||||||||||||
It is still a bit cold in Paris, so we have selected for you some of the best restaurants we could possibly find in and around the Marais area to warm you up. You can dine at many of these restaurants for as little as 15 euros (lunchtime) to 70 euros per person (diner), including three courses, wine and coffee! Some will be slightly more expensive, but value for money is what we look for when selecting the best Paris restaurants. The Marais district and Montorgueil district offers such a wide choice of cuisine—many of which are only available in other large metropolitan areas—so take advantage and don't just indulge on classical French cuisine! Allow yourself to experience all sorts of fare you may not have tried before - you just might discover some new great tastes. Enjoy them all and please, do write your own review for each one you visit on parismarais.com: as you can now locate every recommended address and write reviews online. Pascal Fonquernie,

IperiberIf for some, the center of the world lies in Catalonia at the central train station of Perpignan as Salvador Dali proclaimed, the heart of Spanish cuisine in Paris beats undeniably strong under the "atomic", very sputnik chandelier of IPERIBER, a restaurant opened 2 years ago in rue Montmorency in the Haut Marais. Orchestrated by the very talented Valencian chef Gloria Fernandez Lago- trained at the Culinary Center in San Sebastian by the greatest chefs of the Basque country- the cuisine offers a veritable journey across the Pyrenees combining great fresh food and fine compositions. Scrumptious freshly desalinated squid on skewers or Piquillo peppers stuffed with cod will gently whet your appetite before savouring a Galician octopus or squid with fideua (Valencian noodles) in ink. The pluma pata negra pork with fresh fig sauce is to die for. The fun would not be complete without a pinch of sweetness: try the Torrija briochée with almond milk ice or the crispy rice pudding foam with lemon sauce. Doubly delicious duos that go straight to the heart! Iperiber welcomes you like a king. 6 Rue de Montmorency, 75003 Paris, France - Tel. 01 42 72 18 10 |

L'Ange 20This an excellent place to try as soon as you possibly can. After working behind the scenes in some of the best renowned places in London and Paris, Thierry Pauli ( former chef in many palaces in Berlin and Paris ) welcomes you in charming simplicity as he cooks the food in the dining room, right in front of you, just like at home but in a modern bistro-style setting. Everything is fresh, made in-house, served with a smile and a simplicity amongst good friends, just as if the man of the house were a famous chef who had remained modest. House style foie gras with apples caramelised in Amaretto, lamb fondant... Reflections of Provence prevail in this delightful little place, and the fact that the well-known Geoffroy l'Olive and Pain Vin Fromage are neighbours only adds to the charm. Make a note to go back another time to try those out too. Humble rue Geoffroy l'Angevin and its wonderful eateries will never fail to impress you. 20/20 for them all! It's the least one can give them for such a fabulous welcome and such fine food. Booking is essential. 8 Rue Geoffroy l'Angevin, 75004 Paris, France - Tel. 01 40 27 93 67 |
