December is Christmas month and a perfect excuse for some retail therapy; so what if a small thing or two for yourself happens to slip into your bag while searching for that special item for friends and family? See below for some shopping suggestions, and happy hunting!

First of all, we have chosen and indicated for you the top addresses in each street on our new Marais map. This year’s map design is signed Yukié Matsushita, a great Japanese-American illustrator who has been living in Paris for 20 years. Yukie is multi-talented and has the same passion as we do for cats. On the other side of Place des Vosges, La Place Royale, one of our favourite addresses, has been completely revamped with a new menu yet still offers the same unbeatable all-inclusive price of 39 euros for 3 courses, one bottle of Bordeaux for 2, and coffee.

Another fantastic option for indulging yourself with a true gastronomic experience is Monjul‘s 6 course menu at 50 euros per person. A delight for all your senses.

Morgan Bar, a small friendly space with a mixed ambience, welcomes all to enjoy a selection of different Champagnes at a very reasonable 5€ per glass.

Théâtre Dejazet, the oldest surviving Paris theatre and where Mozart actually performed when he was in Paris, delights us with 50 special performances to celebrate their 1913-2013 centenary. The troupe Marionnettes of Salzburg anniversary celebration astounds with three extraordinary shows alternating from November 16th to December 16th 2012 :
- The Magic Flute by Mozart
- A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare
- The Tetralogy by Wagner (world premiere)
