Bonjour Parismarais Readers,
Despite the international financial crisis, tourism in Paris remains bright, and the City of Lights is still the most visited city in the world. In August, prices are cooling down as some hotels may have slightly fewer clients, and visitors may enjoy stays that are a little shorter than in the past.
We have selected for you our favorites in Le Marais district, and especialy focused on design boutique hotels. Do plan a last minute trip to Paris, even if plane tickets are expensive in August, as you ‘ll save on everything else and enjoy the best of Paris at the lowest prices ever.
Remember Paris high season is September and October due to hundreds of trade shows, art fairs and fashion weeks. So think about it, Paris at bargain prices is at your doorstep now until the end of august.

The Hotel du Jeu de Paume is a charming four stars nested between the arms of the Seine, on the Saint Louis Island. As per its name, this building is a rehabilitation of a former royal real tennis court, built under Louis XIII, at the beginning of the 17th century. The wood frame, 17 meters high, overhangs the breakfast room, and rooms are built all around. The Jeu de Paume offers 27 rooms and 3 suites, decorated in a design style with a reference to the most famous artists of the 20th century. The suites are in duplex, opening onto the patio-garden, certain rooms are mansard-roofed in the bohemian spirit. All are equipped with complete bathroom, minibar, flat screen LED, phones, and free WiFi access. The lobby evokes the colors of Mondrian, and the famous chairs of Verner Panton cut bravely with the old beams of the real tennis. The glazed elevator offers a sight to 180 °. The terrace-garden is great to have breakfast or a glass of wine, weather permitting !
